We were warned of the coldest winter on record; it seems the UK has slipped through a crack in the polar chill.
I’m glad to be warm – if wet – and happy to reminisce with these photos of the beauty of ice-sharp days in the ice of 2011!
Images of nature feed the creative mind as we find inspiration in the cycles of life, patterns of growth, and the textures, colours and forms that result. It’s a beautiful world!
I love how these ice crystals sweep out from edges…
burst like flowers from any surface…
growing ever more complex
till the sun’s rays break the chill
And the ice recedes to give the earth a chance to recover
before dusk.
